Livewire v4.3.5 Released: Fix for SFC Detection with PHP Attribute Array Arguments
===================================================================================

Livewire v4.3.5 ships a targeted bug fix for Single File Component (SFC) detection when PHP attributes contain array arguments, resolving a parsing edge case introduced in the v4.x line.

Livewire v4.3.5: What Changed and Why It Matters
------------------------------------------------

Released on 3 August 2026, **Livewire v4.3.5** is a focused patch release for the v4.x branch. It ships exactly one fix, but it addresses a real-world parsing edge case that could silently break Single File Component (SFC) detection in certain PHP codebases.

### The Problem: SFC Detection Failing on PHP Attribute Array Arguments

Livewire v4 introduced support for Single File Components — a syntax that lets you co-locate your Blade template and component class in a single `.blade.php` file. Under the hood, Livewire parses the file to detect whether it is an SFC.

The bug fixed in this release occurred when a **PHP attribute on the component class contained an array argument**. For example:

```php
#[SomeAttribute(['key' => 'value'])]
class MyComponent extends Component
{
    // ...
}
```

The square brackets inside the attribute's argument list were being misinterpreted by the SFC detector, causing it to fail to recognise the file as a valid Single File Component. Depending on your setup, this could result in the template not being found or the component not rendering at all.

### The Fix

Contributor **@joshhanley** identified and resolved the issue in [pull request #10480](https://github.com/livewire/livewire/pull/10480). The fix corrects the SFC detection logic so that array arguments inside PHP attributes are properly handled during parsing, regardless of their complexity.

No public API changes were made. The fix is purely internal to the SFC detection mechanism.

### Should You Upgrade?

If your Livewire v4 components use **PHP attributes with array arguments** — for example, attributes from packages like Spatie's Laravel Data, custom validation attributes, or any attribute that accepts an array — you should upgrade to v4.3.5 immediately.

Even if you are not currently affected, upgrading is low-risk given the patch-level nature of this release.

Update via Composer:

```bash
composer update livewire/livewire
```

Verify the installed version:

```bash
composer show livewire/livewire | grep versions
```

### Key Takeaways

- **v4.3.5 contains a single bug fix** targeting SFC detection.
- The root cause was PHP attribute array arguments confusing the SFC parser.
- The fix is non-breaking; no code changes are required on your end.
- All Livewire v4 projects using PHP attributes with array syntax should upgrade.
- Credit goes to **@joshhanley** for the diagnosis and patch.

Frequently asked questions
---------------------------

  What bug does Livewire v4.3.5 fix?It fixes a bug in the Single File Component (SFC) detection logic that caused parsing to fail when a PHP attribute on the component class contained array arguments, such as #\[SomeAttribute(\['key' => 'value'\])\].

   Do I need to change any code after upgrading to Livewire v4.3.5?No. The fix is purely internal to Livewire's SFC detection mechanism. Upgrading via Composer is all that is required — no changes to your component classes or templates are needed.

   How do I upgrade to Livewire v4.3.5?Run `composer update livewire/livewire` in your project root. You can confirm the installed version with `composer show livewire/livewire | grep versions`.
