 Livewire v4.3.5: What Changed and Why It Matters
------------------------------------------------

Released on 3 August 2026, **Livewire v4.3.5** is a focused patch release for the v4.x branch. It ships exactly one fix, but it addresses a real-world parsing edge case that could silently break Single File Component (SFC) detection in certain PHP codebases.

### The Problem: SFC Detection Failing with PHP Attribute Array Arguments

Livewire v4 introduced support for Single File Components — a pattern where your Blade template lives inside the same PHP class file. The framework detects SFC syntax by parsing the PHP source of a component class.

The bug fixed in this release caused that detection logic to fail when a **PHP attribute** on the component class (or its methods/properties) included an **array as one of its arguments**. For example, a component decorated like this:

```php
#[SomeAttribute(['key' => 'value'])]
class MyComponent extends Component
{
    // ...
}
```

The square brackets inside the attribute argument list were being misread by the SFC detector, causing it to incorrectly conclude that the file was not an SFC — even when it was. The practical result: your inline Blade template would not be picked up, and the component would silently fall back to looking for an external view file.

### The Fix

Contributor [@joshhanley](https://github.com/joshhanley) resolved the issue in [PR #10480](https://github.com/livewire/livewire/pull/10480) by updating the SFC detection logic to correctly handle PHP attribute array arguments. The parser now distinguishes between the `[` / `]` delimiters used in PHP attribute syntax and those that signal the start of an SFC template block.

### Should You Upgrade?

If your Livewire v4 components use PHP attributes with array arguments **and** you rely on Single File Components, this patch is directly relevant to you. Even if you haven't hit the bug yet, upgrading is low-risk — this is a single, well-scoped fix with no breaking changes.

Upgrade via Composer:

```bash
composer update livewire/livewire
```

Verify the installed version:

```bash
composer show livewire/livewire | grep versions
```

### Key Takeaways

- **v4.3.5** contains one bug fix: corrected SFC detection when PHP attributes include array arguments.
- The issue caused Livewire to miss inline Blade templates in affected components.
- Fix contributed by [@joshhanley](https://github.com/joshhanley) via PR #10480.
- No breaking changes; safe to apply immediately.
- Upgrade with `composer update livewire/livewire`.

 Frequently asked questions
---------------------------

  What bug does Livewire v4.3.5 fix?It fixes a bug where Single File Component (SFC) detection incorrectly failed when a PHP attribute on the component contained an array as one of its arguments, causing Livewire to miss the inline Blade template.

   Do I need to change any code after upgrading to Livewire v4.3.5?No. The fix is internal to Livewire's SFC parser. Simply run `composer update livewire/livewire` and your components with PHP attribute array arguments will be detected correctly without any code changes.
