Filament v5.8.2 Is Out — Here's What Changed
--------------------------------------------

Released on 15 September 2026 by Dan Harrin, **Filament v5.8.2** is a focused patch release that addresses a handful of real-world pain points reported by the community. It includes UI fixes, translation additions, a couple of refactors, and updated documentation. Here is a detailed breakdown of everything that landed.

---

### Bug Fixes

#### Tables

- **Mobile-stacked tables now preserve desktop spacing.** A regression caused column spacing to collapse when tables switched to the stacked mobile layout. This is now corrected, keeping the visual rhythm consistent across breakpoints.
- **Session persistence disabled for tables inside a `TableSelect`.** Tables embedded in a `TableSelect` component were incorrectly persisting session state (filters, pagination, etc.), which could bleed state between unrelated uses. Session persistence is now disabled in that context.

#### Page Layout

- **Page header content no longer gets squeezed by actions.** When a page header contained both a title/description and a set of action buttons, the text area could be compressed on narrower viewports. The layout now allocates space correctly.

#### Rich Editor

- **Rich editor content area is now fully clickable.** Previously, clicking in certain whitespace regions of the editor did not focus the input. The content area now responds to clicks across its entire surface.
- **Preloaded rich editor mentions are now filtered client-side.** When mention suggestions are preloaded, filtering now happens in the browser rather than triggering additional server requests on every keystroke.

#### Repeatable Entries

- **Repeatable entry items are rebuilt after in-place collection mutation.** Mutating a collection directly (rather than reassigning it) could leave the rendered repeatable entry out of sync with the underlying data. Items are now correctly rebuilt in this scenario.

#### Tenant Ownership

- **`HasOneThrough` relationships are skipped during tenant association.** Filament was attempting to associate tenants through `HasOneThrough` relationships, which is not a valid operation. These relationships are now skipped gracefully.

#### Routing

- **Scheme is stripped when checking if a panel root route is taken.** The panel root route conflict check was comparing URLs including their scheme (`http://` / `https://`), which could produce false negatives. The scheme is now stripped before comparison.

---

### Translations

Several language packs received updates from community contributors:

- **German** — Fixed `filament-query-builder::query-builder.operators.is_filled.summary` translation key.
- **Brazilian Portuguese (pt\_BR)** — Added missing translations for select actions.
- **Czech** — General translation fixes.
- **Khmer (km)** — Updated translations.

---

### Refactors

- **`CheckboxList` search configuration is now defined directly on the component.** Search-related configuration was previously handled externally; it is now encapsulated within `CheckboxList` itself, making the API cleaner and more predictable.

---

### Documentation

- App authentication cache requirements are now documented.
- The shared Blueprint workflow and Astra comparison are now documented.

---

### Dependency Updates

- `@tiptap/core` bumped from `3.30.4` to `3.30.5`.
- `sharp` bumped from `0.35.0` to `0.35.4` in the docs-assets screenshots toolchain.

---

### Key Takeaways

- Fix for mobile-stacked table spacing regression.
- `TableSelect` no longer leaks session state between table instances.
- Rich editor is fully clickable and mention filtering moves client-side.
- Repeatable entries stay in sync after in-place collection mutations.
- `HasOneThrough` tenant association attempts are now safely skipped.
- Four language packs updated by community contributors.
- `CheckboxList` search config refactored onto the component directly.

 Frequently asked questions
---------------------------

What does the TableSelect session persistence fix in v5.8.2 actually change?Tables embedded inside a `TableSelect` component were previously persisting session state such as filters and pagination. This meant state could carry over between different uses of the component. In v5.8.2, session persistence is disabled for tables in that context, so each `TableSelect` instance starts clean.

Why was tenant association failing for HasOneThrough relationships before this release?Filament was attempting to associate a tenant through `HasOneThrough` relationships during the ownership resolution process. Because `HasOneThrough` is a read-only, derived relationship, writing to it is not valid. The fix in v5.8.2 skips these relationships entirely during tenant association.

How do I upgrade to Filament v5.8.2?Run `composer update filament/filament` in your project root. No additional migration or configuration changes are required for this patch release.
